Interested in joining GSKC? Come to a meeting! Applications are available at club meetings and through Pat Welden, Secretary.

Membership to the Greater Shelby Kennel Club is open to all persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of this club. While membership is not restricted to residence, the club's primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders, exhibitors and dog enthusiasts in Shelby County, Tennessee, and the surrounding areas.

After an invitation or request for membership, each applicant completes an application form and agrees to abide by the GSKC constitution and by-laws and the rules of the American Kennel Club. Payment for the current year's dues should accompany the application.

All applications are filed with the GSKC Secretary, and each membership application is read at the first meeting of the club following receipt. At the next meeting, the second reading of the membership application is recorded. The third and final step in the membership process is voting by secret, written ballot. Affirmative votes of three-fourths of the voting members present at the meeting are required to accept the applicant.

An application cannot be processed without the signatures of two sponsoring members.

Club Dues:

  • $15.00 - Individual Membership
  • $20.00 - Family Membership
Note: Dues are due once per club year, September 1st through August 31st.
